Hamakua Energy is committed to keeping the community informed about the status of our project every step of the way and we welcome all those in our community to share their concerns, suggestions, and questions at any time as the project progresses.
Members of the Hamakua Energy have long been a part of the Honokaa community. Many of us have deep roots in the town of Honokaa dating back to the plantation days. Hamakua Energy has employed local Honokaa residents across two generations. Operating safely, preserving our rich history, caring for lands and ocean, and upholding our cultural values are priorities for us and for the community. We know we must continue to listen and collaborate with each other.
Community Scoping
Hamakua Energy’s outreach team has begun to meet with county and state elected officials, and other community leaders. We wanted to provide basic information about the project and listen to any potential concerns about the project. To date, we have not been made aware of any concerns regarding the project. In addition, in these meetings, we also asked for recommendations on how Hamakua Energy can engage the community.
Ongoing Outreach
Hamakua Energy is committed to keeping the community informed about our progress with our energy renewable energy project through informational meetings. We also would like the community to share any concerns they may have about the project so that Hamakua Energy can address their concerns by developing mitigation strategies with community input and communicating those strategies with those who may be impacted.
In addition to participating in community outreach meetings, you may also submit your comments in the Contact and FAQ section of our website. We can also provide you with information on upcoming scheduled community meetings.
